Sunshu Ju Kanesada(駿州住兼貞) originally from Seki(関) in Mino(美濃) Province (present-day Gifu-岐阜県関市- Prefecture), moved to Suruga(駿河), the main domain of the Tokugawa(徳川) family (in present-day Shizuoka-静岡県- Prefecture). The 1st gen. Kanesada made the swords during the early Edo period around the Kan'ei(寛永) era (around 1630).
