Aiguchi Tanto Koshirae

$0.00Price

It is not an exaggeration to say that Koshirae in Japanese swords embodies all the artistic craftsmanship of its time. Alongside the sharpness of Japanese blades, exploring the artistic value contained within Koshirae is also one of the reasons for collecting Japanese swords as a hobby.

  • Please appreciate the exquisite craftsmanship of the vermilion-lacquered scabbard adorned with Karakusa (Arabesque) pattern inlaid with Maki-e. The blade accompanying this tanto mounting is highly sought after by collectors, created by the renowned master Minamoto Kiyomaro during the late Edo period.  The tsuka (handle) is wrapped with sharkskin and adorned with gold leaf, while a solid gold menuki (decorative grip) is placed. It is a beautifully coordinated piece, and holding it in your hand brings joy through its exquisite craftsmanship.
