Bizen Iemori(備前家守) and Osafune Iemori(長船家守) have been used as the same name across generations. According to Meikan(銘鑑), the 1st generation Iemori belongs to the Hatakeda school(畠田派) of the late-Kamakura period. It has been passed down through generations under the same name, with the 1st generation representing swords from the early stages of the Northern and Southern Courts period, the 2nd generation representing swords from the middle stages of the Northern and Southern Courts period, and the 3th generation representing swords from the late Northern and Southern Courts period to the Muromachi period.
The first generation is considered to belong to the Hatakeda school and is said to be related to the Fukuoka Ichimonji(福岡一文字) lineage. From the second generation onwards, they are classified as belonging to the Ko-sori school(小反り派).
Generally, when referring to “Iemori” it often pertains to the 3th generation's swords from the Muromachi period.
